An amazing island with much of interest. Having rebuilt after a great earthquake , the local farming and fishing communities have rebuilt their communities , much helped by the seasonal glut of package tourists… and million pound cruisers at the northern port Fiscardo. An interesting place to work if you want have the energy and can aclimatise to the ferocious summer heat.

it is the beginning of the river Aire coming out of the Yorkshire Limestone under what used to be a waterfall. spectacular !
