A review of this place: pretty tasty

i had a fake fish dish that was pretty tasty. enough for two people to split. i also had the “egg” drop soup which was delicious. and the gula malacca desert which i wish i could have again right now!

Herbivore - The Earthly Grill

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

i got a bloody mary which was pretty odd tasting. i don’t know what was wrong with it exactly but i was disappointed in it. i got the coconut soup which was pretty good. most of the veggies were practically raw, which was okay with me. i also got the roasted portabella mushroom sandwich which was juicy and tasty but tore the roof of my mouth apart. injury lasted three days or so. would like to go back sometime and have the lentil loaf with mashed taters. they have an online menu.

French Quarter

Worth visiting!

A review of this place: romantic charm

The architecture is just amazing. It has a really dated, historic feel. Almost nothing looks new. The wrought iron gates between the building are gorgeous. I loved how people cemented broken bottles of pretty colors (blue, green, brown) to the tops of the walls. I love to peer through the fencing to see the courtyards behind the building. A little sleezier than I expected… and the laws are different from most of the country. You are allowed to drink on the streets… and in your car… they have drive up daquiri shops there… weird.

Gold Star Chili

Cincinnati Chili

really good. Skyline and Gold Star have slightly different recipes for the same style of chili. Both delicious in their own ways. Both a must try. Chili over spaghetti with cheddar cheese… onions and beans are great additions. I always got the five way.

A review of this place: good chili

If you’ve never had Cincinnati Chili, you must have it. It is very different and delicious. I get the spice packet and make it at home with tvp so this vegan can still enjoy the flavor I grew up with.

Hollywood

Worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

I thought it was much dirtier and sleezier than I ever imagined it would be. The roads were pretty terrible and the traffic was intimidating. But there is a lot to do. It is worth a visit.

Torrey Pines State Reserve

Worth visiting!

best beach

This place is pretty hot and dusty. But if you are up for it, a short walk will get you to a pretty awesome beach. The cliffs are beautiful. There are lots of anemones and muscles to admire on the rocks in the water. Usually, the beach isn’t crowded at all. It would be pretty impossible to lug out coolers and beach chairs so I think that is why the beach is pretty quiet.

Lemon Grove

Not worth visiting!

Biggest Lemon you ever saw

When we moved here in 98 this is where we lived for a couple of weeks. It is hot and not very charming. It’s okay but not an exciting place to visit.
