Stayed at this yurt place with jade mineral water in the pool and jacussi, round living, living is round. Beautiful companionship. Hiked in Julia Pfeiffer Burns park – the Ewoldsen trail – not to be missed. Ate at Deetjen’s and Napenthe cafe (eggs benedict w/ dungeness crab + avocado!). Also stayed at Big Sur Lodge, not bad but Treebones was wonderful and stole the show… Hawthorne Gallery is excellent as well…

thanks to the patience of waiting another year, the patience with the accumulation of miles, i turned them in and got the flight – sxsw in march, here i come. meet the web designer heros, see the obscure films, and maybe tiptoe in to an all night rock and roll confessional before i split home again. an old friend who lives in austin called just around the time this was all coming together, so i even have a place to stay part of the time, so i don’t have to luxuriate forever in the thick towels of the hilton… life is ruff. camper is happy.

good selection of foreign language books, rare books, journals, esoterica, you name it. each room has a color name/code. wifi in the cafe, as throughout portland. plan on spending a good chunk of the day, or multiple days, here in fullon browse trace mode. esp. good if you have a specific project so you can focus your nomdic strolls through the maze on fleeting associative targets within a larger goal…
