If you have to be in San Jose, you should at least visit the Winchester Mystery House. There doesn’t seem to be much else in that town, anyhow.
Spring for the extra $5 or so and take the behind-the-scenes tour.

Make sure to stop by Buena Vista for an Irish Coffee . Ask for Paul ; he’s a legend in his own time.

…lest you be scoffed at by the locals.
I’m not much of a beer drinker, but I learned to order it anyway, especially when eating at one of the many biergartens in the city. These people are serious about their precious Kölsch!
