Pride Parade, Festivals

Missed this year

Biggest, friendliest party on the planet. If you love people, fun, food, dance, and culture, this is the best thing you’ll do all summer. Unfortunately you have to also love heat, noise, booze, and people. Not for the agoraphobic. :-) Wicked good fun. Don’t let the media fool you – what you see on the news and what it actually is can be a little different. Don’t be afraid of the crazy clothes, pumps and the makeup – those ladies are usually the MOST friendliest and loving people you’ll meet there.

Toronto, Ontario

Just got back

I know it’s practically down the street, but that’s what makes it so awesome. It’s less than an hour away and it feels like a completely different world.

This weekend I slept in a heavenly bed and cried at the Hockey Hall of Fame on our first holiday together. I made new memories and erased old ones over a decadent crepe at Richtree @ BCE Place and I liked it so much I’ll do it all again sometime soon.

Barrie, Ontario

The little city that could.

Home of Live8 Canada. Almost Toronto, but not quite and almost cottage country, but not quite. It’s the best of both as long as you have transportation. There’s nothing to do in Barrie if you live there, but it’s great to visit, especially if you like the outdoors in any of the 4 seasons. You can ski less than 30 minutes away in any direction, camp, shop, swim, or eat.

I just wish there was a good Italian food restaurant.
