Although the only time I spent in LA proper was in the airport, the bus ride to Santa Monica, the taxi ride back, and the airport again.

I live here

having lafayette and ignoring west lafayette is like having minneapolis but no saint paul or vice-versa.

Lafayette is not a college town. The zeitgeist of each city is profoundly different.
