Twist & Shout

Worth visiting!

This place

is owned by my former English teacher Jill (Parrish when I met her) and her husband Brian Epstein. I loved this place when it was on Pearle St. I loved it when it was on Alameda. I love it now that it is on Colfax right next to the Tattered Cover.

Wax Trax Records

Worth visiting!

Music

Wax Trax is in Denver and Boulder. It has the same name has the place in Chicago (featured in Pretty In Pink) but it is owned by different people. 13th and Washington. New and used evrything. Julian Cope mentioned the Denver store in his autobiography Head On. If you speak with the older gentleman that works in the vinyl store, he will tell you about the visit. Julian Cope won’t talk to you about it. He hates Americans.

Mercury Cafe

Worth visiting!

The Merc!

There used to be coffee house down the street called Muddy’s and it made 22nd and California a nice place to visit. I saw Blur here. Alanis Morrisette did a show here that was featured on Mtv. Now, I don’t go to the shows or dances here, but the Vegetarian entrĂ©es are scrumptious. They have the best seitan in Denver.

Casa Bonita

Not worth visiting!

The food...

Isn’t very good. There are no vegetarian items, but they finally serve alcohol. If I had children, it might be a decent place. How it retains its popularity a mystery.

Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre

Worth visiting!

I saw a concert here...

Well duh, that is what people do here. It was the first show not to sell out for The Beatles. In the summer, I run the stairs and try to keep up with pretty women who are always in much better shape than me.
I have seen here: U2, Beck, Ween, Mudhoney, Primus, PJ Harvey, The Black Keys, R.E.M., The Cardigans, Lord Groovy and the Psychedilc Zombies.

Breckenridge

Worth visiting!

Nice mountain

The town of Breck, I know nothing about. The slopes, I frequent as often as I can. It is a large mountain and if you avoid traveling to the very bottom, you will miss out from standing in long lines to be lifted back up.
