Cafe Haleiwa

Worth visiting!

Lunch

We had lunch at the Haleiwa Cafe on the North Shore of Hawaii today. It’s a nice little place in the historic part of Haleiwa with coffee, breakfast and lunch. I have a basic mahi-mahi fish tacos and Sachi had the steak sandwich special.

Oh, I guess it’s Cafe Haleiwa instead of Haleiwa Cafe.

Bishop Museum

Worth visiting!

Good but not Great

The Bishop Museum is great for learnng about Hawaiian and Polynesian culture. It has your typical museum stlye artifacts and historical articles. It was well done, but was not well maintained. The Adventure Center is for kids but parts seem to be too complicated for kids. Nice grounds and cool planetatium though.

Baguette Box

Worth visiting!

Mmm drunken chicken

At long last, I finally made it to the Baguette Box with the Robots. I had the delectible Drunken Chicken sandwich, truffle oil fries and a Thomas Kemper soda.

The place itself is a bit minimalist, which I like. Very plain, but with a focus on the food. The way it should be I suppose.

Baguette Box

Almost made it

I tried to get the Robots to go here for lunch, but I couldn’t remember the name, and thought it might have been the Honey Hole, which wasn’t a good option.

Next time, I will make it to the baguette box and I will experience the Drunken chicken. I promise you that.

Mount Baker

Worth visiting!

The Mt. Baker Neighborhood Rocks

Well, I wouldn’t say that it actually rocks (like Capitol Hill), but after living here for about 1.5 years, I’d say I can’t imagine living anywhere else in Seattle.

It’s mostly residential, so some people have never even heard of it, but we like it that way. I live in an area called “Hunter Blvd”, which is a street with a park in the middle. The park is one of two in the hood, both designed by Olmstead, the guy who designed Central Park in NYC.

Plus, you get to meet and hang out with great folks like the head Robot Josh Peterson and fellow geeks like Carrick Mundell.

Like Josh says, I think we’ll be here forever. :)

The Robot Co-op Office

Worth visiting!

Open House

I think it may be time for the Robots to fling open the doors of the Coop and invite these people in for an afternoon. Oh, and serve beer too! :)

The Seattle Public Library - Central Library

Worth visiting!

Good for Events

Last night Microsoft hosted a party for GnomeDex folks at the library. It was a perfect place for an event with folks from out of town. Everyone really dug it.

Piecora's

Worth visiting!

Piecora's PunkRock Pizza

There is one pie that I really dig there called Gerry’s Own. It has yello peppers, sausage and feta, I think. Piecora’s rocks.

Spain

(in Europe)

Worth visiting!

Party Time

I’ve never seen people party like they do in Madrid. Some bars don’t even open until 4 AM. I remember seeing the partiers walking home as we were heading out to see the city. We partied like rock stars one night, but couldn’t keep up with the Spaniards.
