Reno

Not worth visiting!

boring

only reason why i went here was because it’s super cheap to stay in while on a ski trip. I stayed here during christmas time for only $25 a night (all taxes included) at a 4-star hotel. Yet, if you’re an avid gambler, this town’s ugliness and lower rent might give you a better chance at winning. I say this because Vegas Casinos are known to have been lowering their winning ratios due to the high cost of maintaining all the ‘glitz’ they have to present.

Maracanã

another reason why i want to go back to rio

during my short stay in rio, i didn’t manage to visit maracana. being an avid soccer (football/futbol/futebol) fan, i definitely wanted to see the stadium that-rumor has it-can hold up to 200,000 people. just plain amazing.

Pont Du Gard

Truly impressive

This roman aqueduct makes me feel dumb. Centuries ago, the romans were using this as a water pipeline to move water. and not only that, but the aqueduct is absolutely stunning!

Savannah

Worth visiting!

i grew up an hour away

I lived an hour away from here for 8 years…and came here at least once a month. Most of the town isn’t that special except for the old colonial downtown. it definitely is a jewel, and a must see for anyone in visiting this area. This city also has the second-largest Irish population in the United States, and has a huge St. Patty’s day parade. Savannah claimed international fame with the book “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil”, which later became a movie.

must visit baha'i gardens

being baha’i, I came here to visit our holy pilgrimage site. the gardens are open to visitors too, so make sure you visit them! And go get yourself a real falafel while you’re here too.

Los Angeles

Worth visiting!

l.a....

Traffic. Beaches. Celebrities. Yes, they all exist in L.A., and it is one place to visit for sure. Even if you hate this city, any person who likes to travel will be amazed that you can find anyone from any culture in this city, and that foods from all over the world can be found here. And nothing is in one place-so it takes a lot of driving (and waiting in traffic) to be able to see a good portion of what L.A. has to offer. Oh ya-make sure while you’re here, if you like hamburgers, to go experience the californian tradition of in-n-out burgers. Within the southland, you’ll find at least one. And if you don’t visit one, it’s most likely guaranteed that most californians are going to feel very bad for you.

Foz Do Iguaçu

Not worth visiting!

skip the town...fly in, visit the falls, fly out

quite simple. just visit the falls. the town has nothing to offer at all.

Iguassu Falls

Worth visiting!

Don't go on monday!

Absolutely beautiful! Yet, don’t make the same mistake as me (if you’re on the brazilian side) and go on monday. I ended up seeing the falls by helicopter, but definitely not the same experience. The best thing to do, when the park is open, is to take a raft that brings you to the near the bottom of the falls.

Ciudad Del Este

Not worth visiting!

border town

this is a border town. period. It has cheap electronic goods, and its poverty makes Brazil look like a king. However-you can feel Paraguay the moment you enter. No one checked my passport-showing total deregulation--taxis are motorcycles-and everyone has their yerba mate clique (which was really cool). My advice-don’t go out of your way to get here, but if you have time to spare while visiting the iguazu falls, it wouldn’t hurt visiting a country not much people have visited. plus, you can always tell other people that you’ve been to paraguay.

Rio de Janeiro

Worth visiting!

i love rio

this is the place to be. if it weren’t for the constant gun deaths and the stark separation between rich and poor, this would be a utopia. Good weather, beautiful people, excellent scenery, and great food! This truly is the “cidade maravilhosa”.
