Minto, Sydney

My sister and family live there.

If I never had to visit this place again, it would be too soon! Dive does not even BEGIN to describe this place. If it wasn’t for my sister and her family living there, I would be extremely pleased not to visit the place ever again.

Kiama, New South Wales

It is stunning.

A lovely little coastal town not too far from Wollongong. If you are visiting “The ’gong”, you HAVE to stop by Kiama. The blowhole is one of the best pieces of free entertainment I’ve seen! It’s not always blowing big though, so sometimes it can be disappointing if your trip has been solely for that. It’s a bit of a hunt, but there is a smaller scale blowhole a little further down the coast again and it’s not really signposted, but worth a look too. Kiama is kind of sleepy, but cute and always full of us tourists at peak times of the year. If you live in the south-east of Engalnd, it’s kind of like Hitchin by the sea.

I stayed at the Boat Harbour Motel by the North beach. It is SSSOOO lovely. Beach views from the hotel room balcony. Just heaven. The beach is literally across the road. We would shower and get ready in the morning, walk out of the hotel and across the road and we were at the beach. There is a seafood shop right on the beach where you can eat at, or take-away to eat on the beach or on seats in a park area by the beach. I had the most beautiful tempura prawns I have ever eaten in my whole life from that shop. They were melt in the mouth. And the calamari was divine too!
