Campinas, São Paulo (state)

My Real Hometown

I moved to Campinas when I was still a teenager, and even though I was scared for moving to a different city for the first time, I lived some of the best years of my life there.

This is a cute city, where I would love to live again. The University scene sprinkles the city with many cultural events, and the proximity to Sao Paulo makes me really understand why I wouldn’t want to live in the capital of the state again.

Campinas is the biggest technology center in the country and a very pleasant place to live. The architecture there is beautiful due to the fact that the old colonial style meets the new modern buildings with harmony.

Belém, Pará

The Portal to the Amazon

As my mother’s home town, I was was always a tourist in Belem while visiting my family. I never lived there, but this is a wonderful city with many historical places worth visiting and from which I have great memories.

One can have a great time with all the gastronomical variety here: everything is delicious, from the typical dishes to the fruits from the region.

One warning though: be prepared for the hot weather! This place is hot and humid, maybe the hottest I’ve ever been to; most people there don’t care about hot water, and you’ll be sweating after each of your many daily showers.

The Concrete Jungle

I was born in Sao Paulo and lived there for a long time. It’s an interesting city with lots of things to do and a great nightlife. Its museums are among the best in South America.

We moved out because my family couldn’t stand the traffic and chaos every time you need to go somewhere. I wouldn’t want to live there again, but would do it if I had to. Visiting my friends there is always a pleasure.
