This place absolutely rocks. One of the best medieval themed Faires I’ve ever seen. Absolutely a must to visit if you’re into that sort of thing. A favorite place for a lot of SCA types.

America’s Nation Capital. The Mall area has all of the primary monuments and attractions that you’d want to visit. For me, the Smithsonian alone made the entire trip worth it, and that’s not even taking into account all of the other wonderful things to see.

New York State? Largely uninspiring but with one incredibly notable exception: The Big Apple itself. One of the most incredible urban sprawls I’ve ever visited—in several ways, it easily competes with Tokyo! You absolutely, absolutelymust visit New York City.

Michigan State… where the I-94 seems to go on forever, largely due to the fact that there’s always highway repair work going on that never seems to get finished, and most of the time all you’ll see is trees and the occasional urban area that you pass through at 80mph if you’re lucky.

Use Port Huron/Sarnia for your border crossing, because you’re better off avoiding Detroit altogether.

Actually, this is the place that started my life. This is the land of my origins. As such, there’s automatically a bit of bias in my views of this province, but I will say that contrary to what Western Canadians might say, Ontario is a beautiful place to visit. Toronto, on the other hand, is pretty much how Western Canadians tend to describe it. Certainly come and visit Ontario, just do yourself a favor and don’t spend all of your time in Toronto! ;-)

What’s the motto for this state again? The Land of Lincoln? Whatever that means… but it’s also home to the great city of Chicago! The Windy City is worth visiting any time of the year, but I’d recommend the warmer seasons. They don’t call it ‘windy city’ for nothing, and in the winter that can REALLY bite.

La Belle Province… the seat of French culture in Canada. Definitely worth a visit. Speaking French is extremely helpful, but not completely necessary in the larger cities—particularly in Montreal. In the summer, be sure to check out the Montreal Jazz Festival and for the rest of the year you can satisfy your cravings for live music in any number of the clubs and bars up and down St. Dennis.

A small but beautiful part of Atlantic Canada that ought to be near the top of everyone’s ‘must see’ list.

Key West was a nice, relaxing place to visit. As Gregory Hines had noted in the movie ‘Running Scared’, it’s about as far South in the Caribbean as one can get without having to speak Spanish. Scuba diving is pretty good, and there are a LOT of bars choose from! A recommendation: visit Key West in the winter. While it may be cheaper to visit in the Fall… don’t. That’s hurricane season, and the Keys see quite a few of them each year.

One of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. The people are friendly, the scenery is breathtaking and the culture is rich and colourful. I only regret that I didn’t come here sooner!
