WAY too expensive. $16 for a bowl of udon w/ 2 shrimp in it?
I can get just as good for at least half the price elsewhere.

The food was very good, but I jsut don’t think I can bring myself to pay that much again.

I just had no idea what it would be like.
I thought maybe the city would be a deserted ghost town no one wanted to live in. It’s a thriving busy city.
The memorial park in the middle of the city was just so amazing to see. Seeing the A-Bomb dome as it was on that day. Visiting the memorials around the park. Seeing the mound that was all the ashes left they could find to bury. I spent 4-5 hours in the museum. It was well done – not only a memorial to those that died, but also providing the historical context for the event. It also has the noble goal of preventing that from ever happening again. I tear up just thinking about that day.

As if all of that wasn’t enough, seeing all that, reading survivor accounts, seeing photos, thinking about what it was like….
I was standing in front of the memorial to the children that died, watching school groups of children come up and sing in front of the memorial. An old man came up to me and asked where I was from. Once I said the US, he told me that he was a survivor, his family had been vaporized, but he wanted me to know he didn’t hate Americans he hated WAR and wanted to prevent that from ever happening to anyone else.
When I started crying from the emotional overload of the day, he then apologized to me, which only made it worse.

I think everyone (who can afford to) needs to go to this park one day and just learn & think about what happened.

I saw this church many years ago and it still ranks in my top 5 most amazing sights (underground salt carvings in Poland, Angkor Wat some of the others). Supposedly the chandelier is made out of every bone in the human body. This is not grotesque or morbid. It’s beautiful. Well worth the side trip from Prague! Larger and more interesting than the ossuary in Rome or the collection of bones under Paris.

It was a little to ultra trendy & super exepnsive (and a LONG wait for a table & food) the only time I went.
It also just came off (to me) as too pretentious, so hopefully the new version will be better.

So sad I never even got to eat there.
I read that it closed in Nov. ‘06.

Good for once or twice a year. When you want to treat yourself with a good drink in a nice place and a small bite to eat.

The tapas are rather small and pretty pricey, so don’t go if you’re feeling hungry. That said the ones I’ve had are quite good. I was disappointed though to go back several months later and it seemed as though it was all the same menu. For that sort of restaurant it seemed like there should be some variance so there’s something new to try.

The drinks are good.

I’ve always had nice staff & have not had problems with the speed of service.

Went there last week to celebrate a birthday.

It was very good. The waitors were polite & helpful. The food was quite tasty.

However it probably came out to at least $50+ a person.
This is the kind of restaurant I go to about once a year for a very special celebration and would probably not go to again.

It seemed like a “fusion” place. There was a lot of Hawaiian influence in the menu. There were rabbit dishes, a lot of seafood. 13 dollars for a tiny little corn salad appetizer. 28 for an entree. 10 drinks (though they were very good!)

Hope to go to lunch there some day.
Nice atmosphere, but the drinks were pretty pricey for just a Friday hangout w/ coworkers.

I’ve only had drinks at the bar while waiting to go to Chez Panise next door. It was pretty crowded.

Trivia: Like Chez Panise and Cafe Fanny this was named after a trilogy of French films by Marcel Pagnol.

Only my second Tapas dining experience, so can’t really rate. Pretty good.
However, very tiny and crowded. The guy behind me kept bumping into me. Don’t remember if the prices were reasonable (I wasn’t paying).
