Opotiki is like many small rural towns in that it contains all the essentials of life plus many extras and offers an abundance of leisure activities many of which can be found within the town. Around its beautiful coast-line fishing and boating are popular pastimes; snapper, gurnard, kahawai and trevally being a few popular fish to be caught from these pristine East Coast beaches.
