Georgia Aquarium

Worth visiting!

I loved it!

I loved loved loved this place! Granted, my friend and I picked the absolute busiest day of the year to visit. Oh well…I think I’m going to take a day off and try it again….but it really was fantastic! Two thumbs up!

Tomb Of The Unknown Soldier

Worth visiting!

Incredible

I visited here years and years ago. I had the honor/privelege of laying the wreath on the tomb of the unknown soldier. It was quite an experience.

Venice Beach

Not worth visiting!

Honestly

I found it to be a bit overrated. I usually can appreciate every place I visit, but for some reason, this place was just too dirty, too tacky, and simply too touristy.

Oakland Cemetery

Worth visiting!

I had no idea

That it was filled with the most beautiful statues and held such history. It was very interesting to see where the city’s major names came from. Heck, I even found the headstone of the namesake for my street. I highly recommend a leisurely walk through the cemetery followed by a visit to “Six Feet Under” right across the street.

Peggy Guggenheim Collection

(in Italy > Veneto > Venezia)

Worth visiting!

Mental picture

I sat on the front steps of the Peggy Guggenheim Museum in Venice this summer. It was – amazing. Absolutely picturesque. I don’t think I took any pictures while I sat there, but the mental pictures will stay with me always. I can still feel the warm sun on my face.

United States Holocaust Memorial Museum

dc

i was in DC a million years ago the same week that it opened. back then i knew i had to go, but i just couldn’t bring myself to do it. i heard a story that the indigo girls wrote the song “this train” after having gone through the museum. the lyrics alone haunted me. i can’t fathom the emotions i would feel walking through the museum.
