Galleria Borghese, Villa Borghese

Untitled

Absolutely my favorite museum in Rome. It has a smaller collection than the Vatican Museums, so it is much more managable. Still, the collection is one of the best in the world, having masterpieces by Bernini, Caravaggio, and others. Just remember to get reservations a few days before you plan to go!

Guggenheim Museum, Museum Mile

Untitled

Not the best modern and contemporary art museum in the city, and one of the most expensive. The Guggenheim occasionally has some great shows, but unless there is something specific there you want to see, I would suggest you check out the MOMA (Museum of Modern Art) instead.

Venezia, Veneto

Untitled

Try to find a map that has a “tourist route” (which stays along the outer edge of the city) and don’t just walk through the middle because you will never find you way out.

The food is better and less expensive outside the city so you might want to eat in one of the neighboring towns if you are not staying in the actual city.
