I visited China in 2000, it was an interesting visit and one that I will remember. One of the things that was of note is that in the cities where the big companies have factories you don’t find many children or old people only those that actually work in the factories.
over 5 years agoI first visited PV about 9 years ago. I went with a group from our church and we spent a week helping to feed the children and familes that live in the dump just our side of PV. I have been back at least once a year since. My husband and I just return from there a couple of weeks ago.
Now we go and help support the folks down there that are not only feeding the children that live in and around the dump but we support them as they are teaching them English, Computers and Mathamatics so that they can get jobs in the resorts.
In 9 years I have seen such changes in some of the kids and even know of some that are working in the resorts and have a hope and a future. The impact to that region and country is still being told, but I know that one person can make a difference.
