I lived in Catania for about a month, and even though it’s not much of a tourist city, it was a fantastic sicilian experience! For those who like to get off the beaten path and don’t care if there’s no mega-famous attractions, Catania is a slice of real Sicilian urban life. It’s a busy city with great food, shops, people, history, and nightlife… without tons of tourists or too many people trying to sell you crap.

I’ve gone to this area of Michigan almost every summer of my life, and love it! Although I’ve moved from the Midwest to Southern California, I’m still struck by how beatiful this part of Michigan is whenever I go! Palm trees on the Pacific don’t necessarily beat the rolling hills, forests, sand dunes, orchards, little towns, and lake.
