Just awesome!

We were on a gondola ride. I was maybe 11 years old. I dipped my hand in the water and the gondola guy said that I shouldn’t do that because the water is dirty. I quickly removed my hand and dried it off. I found my skin to be amazingly soft the rest of that day. I decided that the water couldn’t have been that bad, though I didn’t touch the water again during the visit.

I wouldn’t call it a castle, it’s more of a quaint tower with a great view of CT. The drive up to the castle is beautiful and serene, though if you’re the driver you’re spending all your concentration on staying on the narrow road & squeezing by oncoming cars. The castle gate is open during the summer and then you can enjoy the view of CT from the top of the tower, you can see as far as Waterbury maybe even farther. There are interesting woods & rocks to explore- though the folks with fear of hights should refrain from nearing the edge. There is a park with a pond/lake at the base of the hill. I don’t know the milage up the hill but it would be a stiff walk as it is a 10 minute drive or so.

I was there in 2001 I believe. We went to the Efteling with local friend. I love the Efteling theme park. I hope to bring my kids there in the future(no kids yet), it made quite an impact on me when I was little.

I was born in Eindhoven and lived in/attended school in Eersel. I was bilingual dutch and english. I don’t speak dutch much now a days but it’s still in my head waiting to be used. Sometimes it pops out when I’m speaking english- weird.
