I lived here for a year. haven’t been back since Katrina though. It was one of the best-kept secrets of New Orleans – good restaurants, bars, walkable neighborhoods, not a lot of tourists.

Why I recommend this place to visitors

Very friendly people! Lots of stuff to do beside sit on the beach (although you can do that too). Try the Piton beer!
