United Kingdom, Europe
Different
My 1st time out of the Country, besides Canada. I flew into Heathrow and then got in a car, that I’ve never heard of, and then drove to Birmingham.
I loved how at Burger King they said, “I need a cheeseburger royale”, when I asked for a Whopper. It reminded me of a line in Pulp Fiction. It was a bit odd to see people on the other side of the car driving. Thank goodness I didn’t have to drive, I would have never made it home. Went with DC to a memorbilia show. He made bookoo pounds, which converted into even more bookoo dollars. I also liked how when you went shopping, the price in pounds was it, no tax. It was already included in the price. They should do that in the USA. I hope to go back and look around more. It was not a pleasure trip, but business. I did have some fun though.
I noticed right away the diversity of cultures in London. It was a melting pot a lot like the USA. Went into the post office there, and surprisingly, looked exactly like a USA post office. I don’t know what I expected, but I thought it would be different.
On the way back, we took the train (Tube as they call it) from Birmingham to London and then took a taxi to the tubes that take you to Heathrow. We didn’t get to see much, but it looked like an interesting city. Next time I will book a couple of days extra for only pleasure.
