my grandma lives in sitka, and it is where my dad was born and raised so ive been there multiple times. it is painfully small (only one stop light) but it is really pretty. i would reccommend going to see the lake where the city’s water is taken from. also the water is amazing right from the tap. theres so many eagles there too, which is cool if you arent used to seeing them on a regular basis.
over 5 years agoi was born and raised in fairbanks and i think it shaped the kind of person i am. ive made some life long friends living in fairbanks. multiple people i have met have said that alaskans are always so genuinely nice people. i believe i fall into that category. i moved out of alaska to go to college but i will always consider alaska home. i wouldnt want to have been raised anywhere else.
