over 6 years agothe outer banks are a fantastic vacation destination. you can rent a cottage literally on the edge of the water, cook your own food, and really vacation affordably. in the spirit of the wright brothers, i definitely recommend taking a class from one of the hang-gliding schools that line the dunes (i took one from kitty hawk kites). really fun, and one of the least scary places to learn – you just crash into soft sand if you mess up.
over 6 years agomy favorite ballpark in the country, and the oldest. don’t bother buying tickets at ridiculous prices from scalpers – if you show up at the gates at 5 or 6pm on a game day, you can buy whatever tickets are available for that day.
