Museum Of Modern Art, Midtown

Untitled

I had dreamed about going to MOMA since I was about 15 years old, and I finally was able to go a year and a half ago. It was an incredible museum—we snapped a lot of photos, and I was glad because it was such a whirlwind I didn’t even know I’d seen “Starry Night” until after we left. A comment on modern life I suppose. Yes, it’s definitely a multi-part excursion; however, we only had one day in which to do it. I think Rogelio, my partner, anticipated we would spend about 2.5 hours there. But how can you get through four floors of art in that amount of time? Perhaps it was because this isn’t his favorite period in art history? I definitely want to go back. It was one of the highlights of my first trip to NYC.

Getty Museum, Los Angeles

what’s wonderful about the getty is not so much the art but the ride up on the tram on a clear night and a stroll in the garden. very romantic.

Oregon Country Faire, Eugene

Untitled

I spent a few of my very young years (through age 6) in Veneta, the site of the Oregon Country Faire. It has become far more commercial since then. I went twice over the years but was a bit disappointed that the spirit I hoped would be there had been lost. The Grateful Dead have passed, and it’s hard to find that spirit again. Something I was always on the fringes of…all I came out with was a bad sunburn. Hopefully it will change again (or has already). Still, it’s something worth experiencing at least once anyway…otherwise, as I have found, you may regret it.
