Awesome place, amazing people.
I went to Kenya in October/November 2005. Based in Mombasa we did a couple of safaris in Tsavo East/West and the Mwalunganje Elephant sanctuary in the Shimba hills. Both were amazing – we got to see the big 5 and all the people were so friendly. Don’t expect to come here and see a built up 21st Century Western country. It really isn’t that. Poverty is rife and it’s very humbling. People still have to walk 10 miles for their water – the difference? They do it with a smile on their face!
