Luang Namtha

(in Laos)

Worth visiting!

luang Namtha, golden triangle area

Beautiful province, some areas have been better preserved than others. This province has been subject of a 5 years sustainable development project. It’s now used as an example in terms of development for the country. i don’t agree with this…
Most tribes that can be found there have been moved from their former place and they find themselves in a more difficult position.
One positive thing is The Boat Landing in Luang Namtha, if you go there, don’t miss this place which benefits the locals.

Vang Vienne

(in Laos)

Worth visiting!

Vang Vieng, very secret Eden

Vang Vieng itself is not interesting, except the stunning market place (i’ve seen most laos’ wildlife there, ready to be cooked!) What is worthwhile there is the surroundings of that tiny village, everywhere around is so beautiful…

Jungle, my home

I really wanna feel the forest of this place. Just as every remote forest all around the world..and i want to meet the people living in it.

Guizhou

(in China)
The Precious Province

Guizhou sounds to me as the ethnic land. Actually ‘to dream’ to go there is a very very weak word as far as i’m concerned. One day i’ll be there

Burma

(in Asia)
Burmese lights

i’m going to Myanmar next April. I’ll try to get to Kengtung located in the Shan state. I hope i’ll manage to get there as it is forbidden to travel by road in this area since it is too risky. I’ve been in that area, on the other side of the border, into Laos and it was one year and a half ago; i’ve met the people of this special place. Now i want to go on the other side, so mysteriously secret, the burmese side… There are likely the same ethnic minorities to be found, so, i’m going.

Phongsali

(in Laos)

Worth visiting!

out of time people

Phongsali is the remotest province of Laos, bordered with Myanmar, China and Vietnam. it is the place of blue mist mountains and colorful tribes living on their crests, in total autarchy. It’s also the land of ever ending flowering poppies.
I’ve been living and working in Laos during two years.
What i can say is that Laos is an incredibly unordinary country, wealthy of various unique advantages.
