I used to live in Kyoto, and I think it’s the best place in Japan for visitors to come to! Far better than Tokyo for sure. Kyoto is amazing and the things to see are endless. And Osaka, Kobe, Nara, Biwako, Himmeiji, and other must-see places are right nearby. If you come to Japan, come here!
over 5 years agoBahrain had its good points: it was clean and the people were friendly. But it was so expensive and sparse. Not for the type of traveler I am at all! If you are into paying out TONS of money and having a superficial experience, go for it. I enjoyed the marketplace (souq) very much, but it’s totally overshadowed by giant supermalls filled with designer brand stores. Bleh.
