I was just there again with a friend from Seattle. In Puglia I’m used to no english and really great food. In Venice, everyone we talked to spoke english (which has its + and ) and every meal we had was horrible! But the city is beautiful and we got to experience it flooded at record levels-have a pair of rubber boots as a reminder of the trip.

I was there in 1986 and thought it was great. I would be curious to see how much it has changed in the past twenty years.

Last weekend not a tourist in sight (besides us). Beautiful, clear, and fairly cold, day. Great view of the bay and Vesuvius.

Chaotic, full of people and their garbage, with the volcano right there next to the city. What a great place—and the pizza was fabulous!

Driving in through the old crater was amazing. The hike to the top was easy. The views from the top are breathtaking!!

The Cinque Terre are really beautiful places. If you don’t mind the crowds, it is a great destination.
