I was only there for 3 days in February, but it was one of the coolest places I’ve ever visited. I did get a bit burnt out on temples and shrines after the first two days. On the last day I rented a bike and rode around as it switched between snow flurries and sunshine. Weaving through tiny streets on the bike was an excellent way to see the city.

To my surprise, it actually sells real pirate supplies. Like a huge tub of lard (you have to bring your own container if you want to buy some of the lard). Very cool place.

The water was so clear and so beautiful it is almost painful to think about as I sit here at my desk. I snorkelled for hours and hours…followed a sea turtle as he swam around. There were little phosphorescent things in the sand at night. Paradise.
