Just a great place, if you work for the mountain ie Vail Resort you ski for free on your days off, not just at Breck, also Keystone, Vail, Beaver Creek, Araphoe Basin. Spent two winters out ther being a ski bum, in my forties. Not too bad.

over 5 years agoWe got to the visitor center above Spirit Lake just half an hour before it closed. The drive up was creepy, mostly fog and clouds as we drove through the blast zone, barren even in ‘95, we stayed only until the visitor center closed, and then bolted, after having caught glimpses of the blasted mountain in the distance. It was an eerie and haunted place, one I couldn’t wait to run away from. But still, what a cool experience!!!
