It’s a fun little park. Be sure to go when it’s hot enough to enjoy the water park—otherwise you might feel gypped. A little overpriced, so be sure to get your discount from a Pepsi can or whatever. The Web site ( www.holidayworld.com ) said Sundays and Memorial Day weekend are generally good times to visit, but I still thought it was pretty crowded.

We drove about 2 hours to get there. Not too bad. Worth checking out some time.

Such a tourist trap!

This is a ‘museum for the body and mind’ sorta place. A bit overpriced (adults $20) and the dinner show was pretty cheesy. Might be good for children who have not yet been to Disney or any of the other theme parks. The building’s exterior looks really cool, but the exhibits aren’t interesting or unique.

This is the area between Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. Lots of shops and themed restaurants, sometimes with some live music.

Be sure to take sandals, as the pavement gets really hot! In August at 9:30 a.m. (when it opens, I think) it’s already hot enough to want to go to a waterpark. There are almost no lines for the rides at this time of day, but around the afternoon, that’s when it starts to get busy, as you’d expect. There’s storage lockers, towel and tube rental so bring whatever, including snacks and water. The snack shops there are pricey.

There’s a good variety of water rides, including ones for lazy folks to ones where you should have a strong heart before attempting. Also, many multi-person rides.

Church where Dr. King preached, and many meetings spurring the civil rights movement were held here in the basement. Tour the church during the weekday and then come on Sunday for services.

Really nice museum with neat audio/visual effects. It’s amazing to see the city where so much in civil rights history happened. Definitely worth a visit.

Cold as heck with the winds blowing off the lake

Went up for the afternoon and saw most of downtown and the Indiana State University campus. Nothing too exciting, but every place is worth a visit at least once. I don’t think I’ll have any reason to go back, though.

Went to Montgomery for the weekend to visit the Civil Rights Memorial, Rosa Parks Museum, and the Dexter Avenue Baptist Church & parsonage (where Dr. King lived and preached)
