Was in November 2005 for a conference. I speak zero Portugese, so I was very fortunate to be at the conference with my colleagues from Sao Paulo.

The city itself is as it was described; a very planned city. I can’t say that it was a spectacular city – it was quite like many capitol cities. Architecture was a mix of authoritarian government-style buildings lining the boulevard in the government sector and fairly modern structures in the commercial areas.

I’d go back to hopefully see more of the city and areas where people actually live.

was in November. I arrived to the tower at dusk. The lines for the lifts were looooong, so I walked the stairs up to the second level. This is the highest level you can walk. I took a lot of hand-held pictures using my Canon SD600 and borrowed a tripod from a friendly native in order to try to duplicate a photo for a friend from Brazil.

it was a business trip – just like the next time I will visit there. This time, however, it won’t be in November, and I will have a day, possibly 1 1/2 days, to look around. I’m very much looking forward to it.
