Spain

(in Europe)

Worth visiting!

Marginally

I am not sure why I did not have a good time. I was toured around with a fairly decent bunch of people, given the royal treatment, saw some unforgettable sights, but I guess I was, despite my determination to enjoy myself, very non plussed. I enjoyed the different foods, even the cold sliced horse meat that is so prevalent at breakfast time. I remember this trip with a great deal of sorrow and regret. I guess I expected too much, I don’t know. I know one thing for sure. I was ashamed of the Americans on the bus with me, who kept complaining that it was not like America. I kept wanting to shout, “That is so RUDE! If you want to see America, why are you in SPAIN?”

Minnesota

Worth visiting!

Minnesota

I was born in the Twin Cities and just love to go back and visit every chance I can. I have so many relatives in Minnesota and think it is clean, well organized and friendly. GREAT COOKS up there. Gardening, Baking, Sewing…all the home comforts await you on a trip to Minnesota. Lakes, the headwaters of the Mississippi, and the Red River of the North. Fishing, snowmobiling, ice skating, sledding, boating. You can do it all up there. Take a trip to Bemidgi and see the Great Paul Bunyon and his Blue Ox, Babe. Just for fun.

Costa Rica

Worth visiting!

A scenic country

When I visited Costa Rica, I was surprised by the friendliness of our hosts. They really rolled out the red carpet for us. I got to visit a coffee plantation and see how they pick, sort and sack the beans, which is one of their major crops. They also manufacture rope.
Scenery is mountainous, very green and there is ocean on both coasts. The language is Spanish, but most of the elite spoke very good English.
From what I understand, many Americans are moving their for retirement due to a lower cost of living. Not too far from the United States.

The Cloisters

Worth visiting!

Veddy Veddy

Although I am no longer running with the type of people who frequent The Cloisters, I have been there a couple of times and found it to be a world class environment for food, fun and relaxation. It seems to be a balanced, controlled and exotic environment, with many families present. Dress codes are fairly stiff and I did not like that. Extras are very pricey, but worth the money if you can afford it. Staff are excellent.

Beaver

Worth visiting!

Beaver, Arkansas

Population 99, but this is probably stretching it. Makes Mayberry look like a thriving metropolis. Historical Suspension Bridge, 1901 Beaver Town Inn and General Store, Lakeside Campground, Hiking Trails, Post Office. This is the best scenery in the state of Arkansas! Bikers love to ride on Hwy. 187 right over the bridge and to the store and Inn. Come see for yourself!

Bora Bora

Fantasy in Reality

I wonder what a flight to Bora Bora would cost? This looks like the ultimate fantasy place to visit. It seems impossibly beautiful in the pictures. Check out the one from SPACE!

Grand Canyon National Park

Van Canyon

My daughter used to insist it was called the “Van Canyon” because her first grade teacher said so. She is 29 now and a teacher herself, but when we discuss it we always say VAN CANYON. I want to go see it and feel a sense of wonder.

Patagonia

Anyone ever heard of it?

Patagonia, patagonia, patagonia…but WHERE is it? Is it a real place? Check out the pix if you can. It is a really miraculous looking place. I want to go!
