Netherlands

(in Europe)
I wanna go back.

Going to Japan has made me feel much more adventurous. My mom desperately wants to visit the Netherlands again, and I’m thinking of tagging along. Ooooh that would be awesome, perhaps this sping? I’m saving my money just in case.

Worth visiting!

worth it, but not during a hurricane

I got evacuated on the third day of my vacation because of Ophelia. I was staying at a place oceanside on Holden Beach, I really like to be there off season, it is quiet, peaceful, and I prefer the beach when it isn’t very hot, the only risk of coming in September is that it is hurricane season. Oh, well. c’est la vie.

Lots of firsts

I am presently in Misawa, Japan, staying with my brother and his family on the AFB. So far I have been to the farmer’s market, bought a beautiful kimono, swam in the Pacific Ocean for the first time, had my first sushi, ate my first fried squid, been in a traditional Japanese house, and last night, felt my first earthquake!

There is much more that I will get to see and do here, since I still have 6 more days to experience Japan. It is beautiful here, lush and green and the weather has been lovely.

sort of

I really just drove through on the way to France. In all fairness, I love Belgian waffles, so I’m sure this country has more to offer than what I saw of it along the road.

I'm going!

I leave in just a few days to go to Japan. I’m phyched! My brother lives there with his wife and five kids. He is a chaplain in the Air Force, and THE very best brother in the whole wide world-he is the one making this trip possible. So I will go to Japan alone, no kids, no weighty responsibilities, just me (and my brother’s family) for 10 fun-filled days. I will post more on this after my return.

Been to Santa Fe, but it was a very short visit. I would love to go back and do it right—longer.

Camp

I’ve been to Colorado many times, but my most memorable experience was at Eagle Lake Camp when I was in highschool. Eagle Lake is located in the Rockky Mountains pretty much in the middle of nowhere, simply breathtaking! I tried repelling for the first time, swam in a lake, canoed, made great friends and deepened in my faith.

Worth visiting!

I really don't remember it, I was born there.

I do think it would be cool to return to my birthplace, just to know what it was like, but there are other places I’d rather go first.
