Should you find yourself tired of $40 plates of macadamia crusted mahi mahi, or just looking from a break from the high pressure of Wailea’s many resorts – cross the street from the Shops at Wailea and enjoy a pie at Matteo’s. We found the place staffed with Ligurean emigres who had apparently traded one beautiful coastline for another. Order at the front and grab a table. Very casual and kid friendly.

Party alert – there is a new bar/lounge coming next door to the Robot Coop – brought to you by the mind behind Top Pot and Bauhaus – it’s called Gun Club. Do you think we get a shooting range or more of an early 80s Kid Congo inspired theme?
Gun Club is a new bar/lounge from Michael Klebeck of Top Pot/Bauhaus fame. It is going to be on the ground floor of the Trace Lofts project going in on 12th & Madison acrosss from the new La Spiga. It ought to be fun to see what it all adds up to—and since it is a block from our office—I’m sure we will find out.
