Cumberland Island, Georgia
Untitled
This place is great for day trips (via boat from St. Mary’s – exit 1 on I95) or for camping out on the island in Sea Camp (which has running water) or Pioneer Camping (no running water/showers(soon to change). This is a national park and is really nice; camps are almost on the beach. The main (and only road) is made of sea shells that were dredged to deepen the bay for the Navy base, King’s Bay. If you lucky you may possibly see a nuclear sub come into port while on the sea camp dock. Great place to visit and camp.
