This place is amazing. I went in April which when the weather was comfortable. Leave it till July / Aug and you’ll fry! The architecture here is amazing and forever changing. New structures are going up all the time. It does in some parts resemble a massive building site with cranes everywhere. Dubai itself is beautifully clean with manicured flowerbeds along the roadside with grass, all green and lush – which is something for a place built on a desert! The shopping malls, are fresh clean and full of designer gear – if your that way inlined.a A visit to the Gold souk and other souks is a must to, just to experience the culture of the place. Alot of Dubai is greatly westernised. Just walkingalong Jumeirah beach to take in the Burj Al Arab – the magnificent & star hotel. We went in for afternoon tea ( you have to book ahead – else you won’t even get past the entrance gate!) The place inside is awe inspiring – you have to crance your neck to look up to the ceiling hundreds of feet above you. The opulence of the interior – rich golds and blues – to the point of being slightly gaudy. But hey! what a building. We took the super fast lift to the restaurant at the top for a sneeky peek at Palm Island being built.
A must -do would also to go ‘dune-bashing’ in the desert in a 4×4. The most i’ve laughed in as long time. Scarily funny!

The Pyramids – the must see place to go in Egypt. Get there early!! Try your best to ignore all the locals trying to all their souvenirs. The Sun Ship in the Great Pyramid is absolutely awe-inspiring.
Khan-el-Khahili souk – you have to go here. Take in all the sights, smells, traditions and culture. Be brave and barter for something – it’s fun!! Sit in one of the cafes with a cool lemon drink and people-watch.
