Home of the famous Comes The Dervish (E3 5c). Also contains many other easier routes to introduce folk to slate, such as Mental Lentils (HVS 5b) and viciously hard ones (Dawes Of Perception E7 6c). There’s also the Bathtime Wall – E4 upwards. Check out the guide at uk climbing

The bar on the 107th floor of tower one was a regular weekend hang out for the Battery Park expats. Free to get in (99% of tourists queued for the observation deck in tower2) it had the best view of manhattan and the cocktails were superb. The day the towers were hit I had just landed back in London, leaving NYC the night before.

Avoid it! go to Floral St, Covent Garden or Knightsbridge. Too many tourists bumping into each other outside the cheap shops (except Selfridges where they’re all inside)

a completely stupid place. only americans would build such a place so they don’t have to travel in the big bad world. That said, what a laugh. casinos with no clocks or windows makes for a long day.
