it rained a lot, but there’s lots to see. I enjoyed walking up an extinct lava tube and across an extinct crater. I was slightly disappointed with the live volcano itself as I has overexpectations of seeing lot of lava flinging itself about.
over 6 years agoJust got back…and wow! The beaches here are how you would imagine a perfect beach to be: crystal clear water, easy snorkeling, surfing, tiny bays with pristeen sand, hidden beaches you need a 4WD to get to.
If you are going then buy a book from WizardPub in the xx Revealed series http://www.wizardpub.com/bigisland/bigisland.html they have all the best tips.
