Lodging

We ended up staying in the lodge and it was well worth it. The lake was even more magical after all the day guests left and it was just the small kindred group of hotel guests. Having cocktails on the overlook with my wife was one of the highlights of my life.

TWA Terminal, John F. Kennedy International Airport

I'm glad it still stands

I get a little teary taking the skybridge from the airtrain station to the JetBlue terminal, gazing at the TWA terminal thinking about how the romance and life has just been bled from air travel.

I hope they repurpose it one day.

I’ve always wanted to walk through that tube.

Timberline Lodge, Mount Hood

Great Lodge

Construction started in 1936 and completed in 1937 by the WPA today the lodge still stands well preserved. I have been here numerous times, the food is great (try the chili and the bacon sampler) and staying in one of their fireplace king rooms in any season is a treat not to be missed. A great day trip from Portland in any season, and even better with an overnight stay. (their bloody mary is one of the best i’ve ever had) I Hope to return very soon.
