Well, I want to see Africa because I plan on living there, and I want to go to Ghana specifically because I am going to apply to transfer to a university there to study for a year. Then I will return to Whitworth and finish up my degrees. I’m so excited!

I went on a camping trip with some friends towards the end of summer 2006. We camped at Ma & Pa’s RV Park and Campground. It was a nice place because it was so close to the beach. You walked for about 2 minutes and you were in the water. I loved it.

I had so much fun with my friends there. Most of us were in the same Literature class that coming school year, so we lied on the beach and read for a few days; and played in the water of course!

It was a great trip that I won’t soon forget.

I had a job down there for Spring Break of 2007. Didn’t get to see a lot of the town, so I can’t recommend it. I made $1000 for driving a company’s truck down there, and for working 10 hours. Pretty sweet deal.

My friend and I listened to every Beatles album in chronological order on the way down. Not including Anthology, since that isn’t really an album, or Love because it wasn’t released when we went down there.

Make sure to take a picture with the prospector and his mule statue at the entrance to Yreka!

Two friends and myself took a road trip down to California on a whim one Saturday night. We left at 8:30, filled up our gas tank, and set off down I-5. It was one of the best times of my life. We drove for 8ish hours down to Yreka, California, stopped at the Denny’s to go to the bathroom and take some pictures with the big bronze statue of a prospector and his mule. We turned around and drove back. We got home at 12:30 PM on Sunday morning: 16 hours down and back.

Great times.

I went to Tijuana, Mexico on a missions trip in the summer of 2003 with my church. The experience there humbled me greatly; that lesson has stuck with me as I continue to realize how blessed I am. It is worth visiting just to experience another culture and meet some very friendly and generous people.

I went to tour Whitworth University in December of 2006 to see if I wanted to go there for sure. I had already been accepted when I visited, and I was going to see if I needed to apply for another school. I loved it; I didn’t apply anywhere else.

It is an alright town. It is growing and I expect it to get better.
