On a nearly non-stop shot from Rochester to Seattle along i-90 we stopped in Sioux Falls to stretch our legs and amble about the Falls, and to find our first good meal since hitting McDonalds around sunset somewhere east of Toledo. That mid-August Tuesday 2004, from a denizen’s recommendation, and by strolling along Phillips Ave, we found to our delight Zandbroz Variety, a literary and culinary oasis with a soda fountain, sandwiches, wraps, great ice cream, and books.
Too bad Burning Man wasn’t a week later, or the South Dakota Festival of Books a week earlier. The program sure looked interesting.
