I traveled to southern Ireland to spend 1 month after my freshman year of college. Mostly in Kerry county, I held Bible clubs for children and stayed with different missionaries. The country is beautiful in so many ways. It smelled like wet sheep most of the time and that’s because it rained almost every day, but I didn’t care. I took Irish dancing lessons for free from a woman down the street and drank tea accompanied by a warm scone almost every afternoon. The Irish are so friendly and amazingly tallented. All of them! I only wish you could aquire their tallent by kissing the Blarney stone. You can’t..I tried it.

Two weeks in this lovely city was enough to give me the burden to go back and spend 10 months after graduation. However, after 9-11 happened, my visa never came and I unpacked my trunks vowing to make it back someday. And I will.

I was raised very close to this cafe and have been here numerous times. Everything on the menu is delish and freshly made. They have amazing homemade hummus, bread pudding and tortilini salad to name a few of my favs. They also have a great assortment of italian sodas that are all very yummy. My husband and I went here the day after we became engaged and set our wedding date. If you are anywhere close to southern West Virginia…go!
