Fort Berthold Reservation, North Dakota

Untitled

i spent my early years of life here. as a child this was a wonderful place to grow and explore. i lived with my family here until i was 8 years old, after which time we moved to “the city” and i became “urbanized”.

i remember hiking through these hills exploring, squandering my wealth in “fool’s gold”, and generally terrorizing everyone on my Big Wheel.

i’ve seen some of the most beautiful sunsets here. i’ve seen some of the biggest snakes here. i’ve spent many a sweet summer day at the lake. i’ve had some of the most spiritual experiences here. i’ve known some of the greatest heartache here. i’ve learned some of my most valuable lessons here.

my family lives here and so does my heart.

Peacock Alley Bar & Grill, Bismarck

Untitled

i worked at Peacock Alley for years as a Chef. without bias i can say that this is one of the best, if not the best, place to get great beer and have good conversation.

a lot of locals think it’s either a gay bar or a bar for rich people…or maybe both. haha!

in reality, it’s neither AND both. Peacock doesn’t cater to a type of people…let me take back that last statement. if you’re looking of dancefloors & pounder specials, Peacock is not what you’re looking for.

Peacock Alley’s owner, Mary Pat, is one of the nicest, down-to-earth, no-nonsense women that you will ever meet. she’s a bit of an inspiration as a business-owner, for me. the people who work for her are like a family, and they treat you as such.

IF you’re ever in Bismarck, or if you live in Bismarck, Peacock is the best!

Boulder, Colorado

Untitled

i went with my best friend in 2001 to the Dave Matthews concert at the U. it was amazing – the concert and the city! we stayed with a friend who was going to school there who showed us around the city. i would love to MOVE here – when i’m rich enough or can get scholarships for the University.

everyone is so healthy there. the morning after our night on the town i just wanted a soda. we went to a few grocery stores and found nothing, finally at the Whole Foods i settled for Blueberry juice. our friend recommended we do shots of wheatgrass at the juicebar because that’s what the locals did instead of drinking shots of espresso…

hours later…

while we trekked around Boulder Falls, which was incredible, i was still burping up the taste of my lawn – wheatgrass.

FUN!!!
