Nelson's Buffeteria

Icon No More

Sadly, one of Tulsa’s landmarks closed its doors in 2004 because of a dying downtown. One of the country’s best chicken fried steak meals could be found there. It also had some the longest employed people working there.

Nice to Look At...

Remodeled in 2006-2007, but nothing to do there. Looks nice, open and natural, small with little confusion.

The Comic Empire Of Tulsa

Comic Books, and Comic Books

Probably the oldest, continuously operated comic book store in the U.S. since 1976, this comic book store panders to the comic book fan. You will find nothing but comic books, graphic novels, and ‘underground comix’. And if it isn’t there, the owner (Mike as of this writing), will find it for you. He also has a wonderful fulfillment ‘system’, where he can hold your items for you till you show up – within reason.

Starbase 21

Worth visiting!

Not What It Used To Be

About 20 years ago, the guys at Starbase 21 moved from their original location at 21st and Mingo, to the large store in Alemeda Shopping Center at 21st and Sheridan. There, they flourished in the heady days of comic books, where any book had the chance of being a collector’s item. So, here they have moved, to this small location in late 2006 or early 2007, but still offering comic books, yet not so much the t-shirts and models like they used to. If you want a hard to find collectible, they will probably have it.

Stores Galore

A lot of stores, and many different nationalities passing through. Big, but well laid out.

Norfolk

Worth visiting!

Norfolk, VA First Appearances

Probably the first thing I noticed about the Norfolk area, was that it is full of trees. At times, there could be so many trees, you could call it a forest.

And, people are not afraid to run red lights.

Busch Stadium

Not worth visiting!

The first time I went to this place

I went there to see the Cubs play. Cubs lost. It was pretty much a madhouse, on the edge of downtown. Don’t stick around too long after dark.
