Rudy's "Country Store" And Bar-B-Q, San Antonio

I went here today for our department’s Christmas lunch. It’s not a restaurant per se, though hundreds of people come here to eat everyday. You order your meat by the pound and eat off of waxed paper. This was a great taste of Texas.

Whataburger - North US 281, San Antonio

Untitled

Two things that I noticed about this place that made it stand out in my mind. First the burger had mustard instead of ketchup. This was different, but not bad. I remember the Oasis, in Chico, CA used to do the same so it brought back good memories. The other thing that I noticed what that the window in front of me had big red letters on it that said, “One Nation under God, indivisible”. I don’t think I have ever seen that in a restaurant before.

Fort Stockton, Texas

We stopped here at 2 am after a long day of driving. After the first hotel having no vacancy, we lucked out and got the jacuzzi tub room at the second hotel for the same cost as a night in Phoenix.
