suprise sydney trip
this trip could not be more insane. decided on wednesday, departed on friday and returned on sunday. i must be the luckiest girl alive to have the best friends in the world, ready to pick up and do something crazy on the spur of the moment. i’ve been going through a rough patch lately, having trouble figuring out what i want from life. our little weekender in syds was a godsend.
saturday was filled with touristy things – luna park, kirribilli markets, the harbour bridge pylon lookout, circular quay, the opera house, the train and an evening stroll around the city. we intended on having a wild drunken saturday night in king’s cross, but… we fell asleep. _
made up for it on sunday with breakfast in darling harbour, a visit to the chinese garden of friendship and shoppping ’til we dropped in qvb, the massive supré, the little big mall with kinokuniya and a short stint along oxford st.
two highlights for me. the first was early saturday evening, emerging from the train station into the heart of the giant, busy city. beautiful buildings and coloured lights; such a surreal experience. i’ve never felt so lost in the most perfect way. second highlight was the chinese garden. found my moments and some peace.
spent an awful lot of money in 2 days, but it was totally worth it.
