If you are visting LA and want to go to some really cool places that are NOT huge tourist traps, visit Los Feliz, a neighborhood just east of Hollywood. On N. Vermont are a bunch of cool resturants and small shops, even an old retro style movie theatre. Places to eat: House of Pies, Palermo’s, Fred 62’s, Pychobabble Coffee House. There’s also a jazz lounge called the Dresden that has the best live band every night of the week. My personal favorite: have dinner at Palermo’s, see a movie, have drinks and dancing at the Dresden, and then have drunken 3am pancakes at Fred’s cause it’s a 24 hour diner type deal. Good times guarnteed!!!
