I have many great memories of this place. When my husband & I first got together, he lived in Tacoma and I lived in Lawrenceville. I took him to Cafe Sunflower on our second “date”—two days after he came all the way to Atlanta to have coffee with me and we wound up engaged. Great story for another time. Anyway, on another visit, the staff seated us in the back room and we ordered Zabaco Zin for the first time and it remains one of our faves. We also had our wedding reception at Cafe Sunflower. I love everything they make, but I often crave the vegan chocolate cake, so you must eat some for me!

Berni’s Castle is one of mine & my husband’s favorite places in the world! It’s a lovely little place tucked into a peaceful hillside neighborhood in Oceanside, OR. We have been twice and are going back in the fall. We love the walks on the beach, waking to the view of the haystacks, watching the sun set over the water—you gotta go! You won’t like it, though, if you need lots of nightlife and party. This place is for relaxing and enjoying a quiet getaway. There is one nice restaurant, one tavern, and one little coffee place. What more do you need?
