Everybody should go at least once before they die

Had the pleasure of living there for several years. So glad I did. Definitely not a place I could live forever though. I’m not that “intense”. Miss it sometimes still…

What a wonderful place to live!

There is so much to say about Portland and not nearly enough words in the world to do so. I think the most appropriate description for Portland is “comfortable”. Life here is what you make of it and you will be comfortable if you so desire to be.

The weather is wonderful (the rain’s good for you!). The city is just the right size (although with the number of people finding it & moving here every year, I’m sure that will change). You can get to so many different kinds of places from Portland very quickly. Within a few hours you can be in the desert, in the mountains, on the coast, in the valley. You name it & it’s at your fingertips.

Then there are the neighborhoods. Each neighborhood has its own distinct flavor and culture. They were mostly designed to each have a commercial strip so you can still walk around and see your neighbors. Which brings me to my favorite part of Portland, the people! Not that everyone here is perfect but there are many many many smart wonderful people here and they’re all so damn nice (I’m a former New Yorker – you can see why that was such a shock to me.)

Anyhow, come check us out sometime. We have great food, great music, great art, great nature and great people.
